How the Evolution of Motivation Theories Came To Be

Motivation has been around almost as long as the Earth itself. If you look back at the evolution of motivation theories, even back to the dark ages, it has been shown that Kings have been trying to find ways to motivate their entire civilization.

They motivated through fear and instilled fear in the people of their countries to get them to do what they wanted to. It isn’t easy to motivate others, and there have been many methods that have been tried, and many methods that have failed.

The evolution of motivation theories have changed over the years and people are still learning the right and wrong way to motivate others. It is something that has evolved to where we are today.

The evolution of motivation theories continue to change as we learn more about what really works when it comes to motivating others. As long as we need motivation in our lives, people will continue to try to tweak it to see what happens.

As the evolution of motivation theories have proven to us, there are better ways to motivate others than fear and punishment as was shown in earlier years. People have started to use the reward system which allows them to receive something good for doing what they need to do.

This evolution of motivation theories is extremely popular nowadays as people are more apt to motivate themselves and others if they are going to be rewarded for it.

The future of the evolution of motivation theories will be interesting to see. So far, no one has found the one true component of what actually works. People still use the fear and reward based systems, but somehow haven't found the right combination.

Hopefully it will remain as positive as it is today, because it has been shown that positive reinforcement certainly works better than instilling fear and punishment in someone. When people feel appreciated they often do better.

Whether it is with work, home, or just in their everyday life, if people are told they are doing a great job, or get rewarded for doing something, they will most likely continue it. They tend to set more goals and try to accomplish more when they are motivated to do so.

If you are someone who is looking to motivate others for whatever reason, look at how the evolution of motivation theories has come to be, and you can use that information to figure out what works for you. The basis of motivation is what works in the long run, so take the time to figure out what works best.
