In same comparison in definition with Human Capital KPI’s. In another aspect, HR function KPI’s is only used in internal organization. One should not be blind to the large amount of overlap that the two types of indicators have on each other though. 

Looking at performance of the HR function, it is fact that negative performances or positive ones will influence labor force based on engagement, productivity, or skills.

There are many metrics out there, but to be of most value, what you really want to use your KPI’s for is to focus on where the HR function adds strategic value to the organization. 

For example, time to fill is a pretty standard metrics which some people regard a recruiting KPI. But time to fill is sometimes a recruiting measure in the HR function can have relationship closely with quality of hires, productivity and profitability.

If your time to fill take longer, it is possible the job market is not easy for good candidates to find. As a result, the quality of hires and productivity are peak. An effective measure is using the KPI for the HR Function. In other words, likely after a scandal in senior leadership, your company will not keep the brand prestige broadly anymore. 

Now that same HR Function KPI is a lagging indicator of your employee value proposition. You can choose many influential examples of the HR function KPI in order to support strategic mission more directly. But this is just an example.
