6 Reasons Why The Stress Is Worse Than The Reality

6 Reasons Why The Stress Is Worse Than The Reality

Have you stressed about your future, about paying your bills, or about finding the love of your life? There are a lot of things that can cause you stress and many of them will tear you apart, if you let it.

Stress is painful, stress is a slow killer of the body, and stress is…. Overrated. Stress can be much worse than reality. No matter what the problem is, there is always a solution to it. No matter how bad you think it is, there is always a way to get around it.

In fact, oftentimes stress is much more painful than what is happening in the real world and here’s why.

1. Stress Is Often Made Up

It’s easy to overthink and to believe something that hasn’t yet happened. Nobody can force you to do what they say, there isn’t a reason to become jealous in your relationship if you trust them, and just because you haven’t heard back from a job interview yet doesn’t mean you won’t get it and you’re doomed to a life of mediocre.

We can’t help but wonder about the “what ifs” in life. We are just human beings and our minds like to think about that kind of stuff. But that doesn’t mean that what we think about will actually come true.

There is a great quote I once read about worrying that we should all come back to when we are unsure of the future.

“Never worry about your heart till it stops beating.”

There is no sense of worrying about what might be. The bad may never happen, and if it does, worrying about it isn’t going to change anything.

2. Stress Doesn’t Make Anything Better

Have you ever been so stressed about the situation that you could clearly see an answer to your problem? I’m going to guess you haven’t.

Stress just doesn’t work that way. It won’t help you to easily solve all your problems or do something that will improve your situation. What it will do is slowly harm your body and cause you to attract more stressful things into your life. When you focus on the stress and on the bad you damage your future, not make it better. This leads me to the next point.

3. The Law Of Attraction

The law of attraction states that you attract what you focus on most often into your life. The more energy you put into focusing on something the stronger vibrations you are putting out into the world to attract to your life.

Being stressed out is a very powerful emotion that focuses on the bad. When you stress out about your life you may be wanting the things you are stressed out over to go away, but you are telling the world this is the type of thing you see and this is what you expect to see in the future.

When you stress about money you are telling the world that you will always be poor. When you stress about your lack of a love life you are telling the world that nobody will ever love you. When you stress about anything in your life you attract it to you.

If you want to flip the coin around and stop worrying about it, then simply stop worrying about it. The first step to turning your life around is to stop focusing on what is going wrong and start focusing on the opportunities. They are all around us, you need only look. But you can’t do that if you are worrying about the bad all the time.

4. Stress Can Kill You

Stress can cause your body to harm itself and lead to an early grave, a heart attack, or a stroke. Just the sheer medical problems that stress leads to by itself makes it not worth it. You only make things worse for yourself by stressing about your situation.

Stressed about your bills today? Think about how much worse it will be if your stress causes you to rake up all new medical bills that you can’t pay for. Stress won’t help your body and it isn’t worth the cost.

5. Stress Makes You Do Stupid Stuff

Stress can make you have a knee jerk reaction that causes you to make poor decisions. You can see this on a global scale in the stock market. When a company takes a dive due to bad earnings, it usually falls more than it should and becomes worth a fraction of what it should be, only to creep back up after a while.

The reason is because people stress out too much and sell their shares when they know they shouldn’t. Every investor knows that stress is one of the biggest causes of large losses in your account, and it is no different in your everyday life.

Stress causes you to ignore the facts and just do whatever you can to get the stress to go away, regardless of whether it makes things better or not.

6. Stress Often Breeds More Stress

There is a funny thing about stress, when you worry about how stressed out you are you bring more stress into your life. The more you worry the more stress that comes your way and the more you feel like you were right to worry.

Don’t let stress become a chain reaction. It can very easily lead to poor decisions, bad situations, and even more stress.

Instead, calm down. Whenever you feel the stress coming through, just think about the positives. If you can take a minute to rest. Think of life as a challenge and fall in love with it. Life may not always be easy, but that is part of the fun of it.

Maintain a positive attitude and your life will change for the better. If you still can’t shake the stress even after hearing all these reasons, check out my stress relieving activities article and find a way to get the joy back into your life.
