Activities Of The Safety Committee

The Committee shall be responsible for the following activities in order to maintain close relationships among the Committee Members, and to prevent accidents, incidents and property damage.

(1). Conduct a tour of safety inspection on the overall construction site prior to the Safety Committee Meeting.

(2). Confirm the minutes of the previous meeting and the result of the follow-up actions pointed out at the meeting.

(3). Discuss safety and health matters observed during the safety inspection tour or submitted by members.

(4). Debate and confirm On-Site Safety Policy, Monthly Safety Targets and Monthly Safety Activity Programs proposed by the Chairman.

(5). Coordinate and control any congested or hazardous working conditions among Subcontractors.

(6). Convey major information and instructions from the Client and/or the authorities concerned.

(7). Promote Safety Training Programs and ensure that these are properly carried out.

(8). Report on recent accidents and near-misses and preventive measures taken.

(9). Promote and maintain housekeeping and waste disposal at the highest standards.

(10).  Set up a plan for necessary common facilities and operation, such as on-site public toilets, resting sheds, smoking huts, waste disposal, etc., including responsibilities and sharing cost for their operation and maintenance.

(11).  Acquaint all members with the work permit system, and ensure their employees comply with it.

(12). Acquaint all members with the emergency and evacuation procedure, such as emergency communication network, alarm system, evacuation route, assembling location, in case of fire, explosion, accident, etc., and have all their employees know them and join fire and evacuation training.

(13).  Standardize signs, posters, alarms, etc., and ensure all personnel acquire them.

(14). Recommend groups or individuals for awards in accordance with the On-Site Safety Incentive Award Plan and promote employees’ interest in safety improvement.

(15). Set up a recreational plan, such as softball, tennis competition, etc., to increase employees' health and intimacy.

All respective members who participated in the meeting shall convey major topics to their personnel concerned.
